I have to say, this book gets more interesting each chapter I read.
The chapter I'm going to blog about right now is the second step to attaining riches, or whatever you wish to attain. And what, pray tell, is the second step?
Faith!
Didn't I tell you this book was getting interesting?
It's not something you think of when you think about how to get rich. I mean you often hear about get rich quick schemes. About how someone got this idea for something and made millions with it. About already successful business people making more successful deals. But never, in reading about any of these people, did the word "Faith" come into play.
But once it was explained it made perfect sense.
Mainly by achieving faith in something, that something will most surely appear in the physical world. And though that statement seems simple, really it's actually very hard. Because faith is a hard thing to achieve, especially if you're like me and are constantly questioning things and not as patient as I should be. And, like Napoleon Hill says in the book, though we're constantly told to have faith, no one is actually taught how to do that. But he does remedy that by explaining how to achieve faith.
Faith is achieved by the repetition of affirmations, repeated so much that they become part of your subconscious mind. So long story short, if you keep telling yourself that something is going to happen, then you believe it will happen, and once you believe it will happen, then you will make sure it happens. Ok, so that wasn't shorter in the least, but it does explain it well.
And this can go for negative affirmations as well as positive ones. People who constantly bring themselves down, or think that nothing is going to work out the way they want it, or feel that they don't have enough money, or complain that they are not worth it, actually believe in those things because they constantly state them. And because of that it becomes the truth. I know I'm guilty of that as much as anyone. But I also know that I have certainly been working at changing those negative thoughts into positive affirmations. And I can tell you from personal experience, IT WORKS! It really does. It's not easy all the time, and I have to work at it, but by affirming that you'll have enough money, that you are beautiful, that everything is going to work out, I've found that I have had enough money, that I've had strangers give me compliments about my beauty, and that things do end up working out, even if it's not exactly how I thought it would. So don't hesitate to try and start changing those thoughts from negative to positive thoughts! It really does work!
So now that I'm on my way with the affirmation of faith, I figure this would be a good time to start my first activity for "Think and Grow Rich".
In the chapter about desire there was a list of six steps to attain the riches you want. Or actually any desire. So what I decided to do is to make a list of my desires. And then, using the list of six steps, write down each of my desires and the six steps it would take to achieve them. And then, when the lists are done, set it up so that I can start three of my desires this week.
Can't wait to start this activity!
