Just Going With the Flow....

So this week didn't go exactly like I thought it would.

I didn't get Activity One done.

I didn't get a post in.

I didn't win the lottery.

But all in all I think this past week has allowed me to use all the lessons I've learned so far from "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill.

Mainly the fact that I've got a new job!  YAY!

I'm going to be working at Coggeshall Farm Museum in Bristol, Rhode Island.  It's been something that I've wanted for a while now.  Not that I was unhappy with my current job, which is at Plimoth Plantation.  I have wonderful coworkers, and I get to meet people from all over the world, and I get to dress up and pretend I'm from the 17th century, and I get to garden and cook and sew and play with animals......  What else could a girl want?

But I also wanted a new challenge.  Something that would give me new objectives and a fresh new perspective.  Now I have worked some at Coggeshall, but never as a year long job.  And I know the people there and I get to do more in the way of helping to develop programs and doing general museum maintence.  And I get to dress up and pretend it's the 1790's while cooking, and gardening, and playing with animals!

But I also realized how I've used many of the steps in the "Think and Grow Rich" book to help me finally take the plunge and change my job that I've had for six years.

Persistance, Imagination, Organization, Desire.... all of these helped me to have the confidence in my change, as well as figure out what I want and being decisive about it.  As stated in the book, indecisiveness is one of the many traits of failure.  And also to keep trying if you fail, because a failure is only letting you know that the present course will not get you where you need to go.

Now, of course, the support of my friends and family, especially my wonderful husband, have been a great help and comfort as well.  And my own excitement, desire, and even stubborness at times has helped me start my transition into a new phase of life.

So, with all that, I present my second activity!  For this is a perfect example of what Napoleon Hill is describing in his book.  And I'm thankful for those lessons, and hope to keep learning as I finish this book.

Lessons which I will continue to talk about in the next week!  The month has gone by so quickly!
