Book One Starts...... Yesterday!

So I started, today, the first book on my list.

The Art of Happiness by Dalia Lama XIV.

Really all I have started is the introduction, but so far it is actually interesting.

I picked this book as my first one for two reasons.

The first reason, I have always wanted to read this book.  I've had it recommended to me by several of my friends and, when I was compiling my list of books I wanted to read, it was at the top of the list.

The second reason, was it had the word happiness in it.  And I thought "Well, this is about the pursuit of happiness, what better book to begin with?"

But I am truly excited to be starting with this book.  I'm intrigued about how there is a combination of religious thought and psychological analysis on happiness.  How it affects us as individuals, and how we create it as a society.  And also a combination of East meets West with what the idea of true happiness is, and how to attain it.

I also like the format.  It's more of a dialog between the Dalai Lama, his holiness and representative of Eastern Buddhism, and Howard Cutler, who is the psychologist and representative of Western thought.

Alright.  Pretty excited.  Ready to begin!
